I recently noticed that the packaging had changed, but assumed it was packaging only. I was wrong - the coffee in the new packaging is made with a new "formula" and it is HORRIBLE, overly sweet and artificial tasting. You can't even taste a hint of coffee flavor. Stay away from this blend!My hope is that this is just an issue with a production run or this blend, and the other redesigned Gevalia t-discs actually taste like coffee. UPDATE: I called Tassimo Direct and complained about the new Gevalia Swiss Hazelnut t-discs. They were nice enough to offer me a refund/exchange and I went ahead and ordered replacement t-discs in a different blend. I hope these will work out much better. I did the subscribe and save option to that I'd always have plenty on hand. I had to cancel it and will not buy this again. I don't know what they changed in the recipe, it now tastes horrible! I can't even finish a whole cup. I have to throw it out after only a few sips. I'm a bit of a coffee snob, but I'll drink taster's choice instant over this. The original formula had subtle hazelnut flavor that tasted like it was in the roast itself....the new tastes like they added a cheap shot of hazelnut syrup and a couple of vanilla shots to boot! This is nothing like the original, which had a medium roast taste, the new brew is watery, sickly sweet and off putting. Please beware this is not the same brew as the old packaging. Unfortunately, I cannot return this item and am now stuck with this terrible coffee. |
